Tomorrow marks the beginning of a new life for me. A new start, new adventure. I’m out of high school. I’m not in college. I’m beginning classes at an art school and after a month or so I’m traveling. I’m going to meet unique & amazing people and I’m going to see beautiful things & places. Let’s just say..I’m excited - for the hard work, the adventure, the new start!

This beautiful scene is from the film Waltz with Bashir. I highly recommend watching it. I’ve never been so impacted by a film. It shows the truth behind war, the loss of innocence, and it shows the horrible outcome of the Lebanese War in the early 80’s. My description sounds gruesome & might turn people away from watching it, but there is war going on in the world today and that’s why we all have to watch this - to open our eyes to the truth.

Thank you to my best model and niece, Ariela, she completed this interactive installation.

This piece is "Untitled"
The reason some of my art is Untitled is because I like to have people attach their own meanings. Something like this is simple and when everyones ideas come out, they all lead to the same ultimate idea. I think that's beautiful AND therefore, we are all connected.
Humanity: Everyone is unique and beautiful, but ultimately, connected as ONE.

This is an awesome music video. It reminds me of childhood and driving to the city with my dad every Saturday as a kid. Plus, Macy Gray is just awesome :) Hope everyone's enjoying their summer. The woods were wonderful, but now I'm starting new and I feel great & excited!

Lots of love ------- Molly

I'm at a point where I just NEED to get away. Breathe fresh air. I'm both mentally and physically exhausted. I'm doing this new thing in my life where I don't care if I have to do annoying tasks, be somewhere or do something. I am giving myself a break...for 5 weeks....in nature.

Besides going shopping for soccer balls and tennis balls today (upon my brothers request), I stopped by the New Museum. I checked out the Rivane Neuenschwander exhibition, she's a Brazilian artist, though that doesn't seem like a very Brazilian name haha. Each separate work of hers was so different from the other, it was hard to say whether I liked the exhibition or not. Though I did like the interactive installation. She had a room in the museum covered with ribbons hanging from the walls and you got to pick one with a wish on it and there were millions of wishes, such as:
I wish I could tell my parents I'm gay.
I wish to win the lottery.
I wish I was a famous baseball player.
And so on it goes... You're supposed to wear a ribbon until it falls off. When it falls off (according to superstition) your wish will come true. As you can see, I chose the one that says, "I wish for inner peace." Anyways, I will try to keep up the blogging! Hope everyone, all my wishers, are having a lovely summer.

Love,
Molly
Edit: It turns out the artist Rivane Neuenschwander was inspired by a Church named Nosso Senhor do Bonfim, where you can also put/wear ribbons with wishes. It looks exactly the same. Therefore, I can make a final opinion about this artist. I simply, didn't like her work, though I'm glad I learned a little bit about this Brazilian church and superstition.

"Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans. I believe in everything until it’s disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it’s in your mind. Who’s to say that dreams and nightmares aren’t as real as the here and now?If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that’s his problem. Love and peace are eternal.
If being an egomaniac means I believe in what I do and in my art or music, then in that respect you can call me that… I believe in what I do, and I’ll say it.
Music is everybody’s possession. It’s only publishers who think that people own it.
Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we’re being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I’m liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That’s what’s insane about it.
Part of me suspects that I’m a loser, and the other part of me thinks I’m God Almighty. Reality leaves a lot to the imagination.
The thing the sixties did was to show us the possibilities and the responsibility that we all had. It wasn’t the answer. It just gave us a glimpse of the possibility.

A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality."

I have been growing more and more apart from the computer & I've been completely immersed in my own world.  Isn't it great that summer is here!?

These are my first attempts at becoming a guerilla artist. There will be more to come. More posters, letters, and other things. I've also been working on covering the walls in my room. Too bad this photo isn't so good, which is also why I can not wait to get a new camera...Which also means more of my art will be posted online and I won't bother my friends anymore to use their cameras ;).
