Wish Box Project

I'm at a point where I just NEED to get away. Breathe fresh air. I'm both mentally and physically exhausted. I'm doing this new thing in my life where I don't care if I have to do annoying tasks, be somewhere or do something. I am giving myself a break...for 5 weeks....in nature.

Besides going shopping for soccer balls and tennis balls today (upon my brothers request), I stopped by the New Museum. I checked out the Rivane Neuenschwander exhibition, she's a Brazilian artist, though that doesn't seem like a very Brazilian name haha. Each separate work of hers was so different from the other, it was hard to say whether I liked the exhibition or not. Though I did like the interactive installation. She had a room in the museum covered with ribbons hanging from the walls and you got to pick one with a wish on it and there were millions of wishes, such as:
I wish I could tell my parents I'm gay.
I wish to win the lottery.
I wish I was a famous baseball player.
And so on it goes... You're supposed to wear a ribbon until it falls off. When it falls off (according to superstition) your wish will come true. As you can see, I chose the one that says, "I wish for inner peace." Anyways, I will try to keep up the blogging! Hope everyone, all my wishers, are having a lovely summer.

Love,
Molly
Edit: It turns out the artist Rivane Neuenschwander was inspired by a Church named Nosso Senhor do Bonfim, where you can also put/wear ribbons with wishes. It looks exactly the same. Therefore, I can make a final opinion about this artist. I simply, didn't like her work, though I'm glad I learned a little bit about this Brazilian church and superstition.
